Tatiana Kline

Tatiana Kline is an employment attorney and seasoned trial lawyer with more than a decade of litigation experience advocating for individuals facing some of life’s most challenging circumstances. Throughout her career, Tatiana has built a reputation as a strategic and compassionate advocate, combining exceptional courtroom skills with a deep commitment to client service. 

Before joining ARCH Legal, Tatiana served as a Senior Associate with Clyde & Co’s Trial and Defense Team, where she helped prepare complex matters for trial and handled a broad range of litigation, including employment disputes, Title IX claims, negligent hiring and supervision matters, wrongful death actions, premises liability cases, and other high-stakes civil litigation. She regularly took and defended depositions, prepared witnesses and experts for testimony, developed trial strategy, and worked closely with clients and carriers in complex matters.

Prior to entering private practice, Tatiana spent nearly ten years as a Deputy Public Defender for the County of San Diego. During that time, she represented clients at every stage of litigation, from arraignment through jury verdict and sentencing. She completed 47 felony and misdemeanor jury trials and argued hundreds of motions involving constitutional, evidentiary, and procedural issues. Her extensive trial experience gives her unique insight into case strategy, persuasive advocacy, witness preparation, and effective courtroom presentation.

Tatiana later joined the California Office of the State Public Defender, where she served as a Training Attorney in the Indigent Defense Improvement Division. In that role, she developed and delivered statewide training programs, created educational curriculum for attorneys and legal professionals, and frequently presented on topics related to trial advocacy, attorney wellness, diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging.

An experienced educator, Tatiana is frequently invited to teach trial skills and litigation strategy. She is a certified instructor with the National Institute for Trial Advocacy (NITA) and has served as faculty for numerous trial advocacy programs. She is also recognized nationally for her presentations on attorney wellness, competence, and bias reduction, drawing on both professional experience and personal insight to connect with audiences in meaningful and impactful ways.

Tatiana has long been committed to leadership within the legal profession. She served on the Board of Directors of the San Diego County Bar Association and has held leadership roles focused on wellness, diversity, equity, and anti-racism initiatives. She also co-founded the San Diego County Public Defender’s Wellness Committee and remains active in numerous professional and community organizations.

Tatiana earned her Juris Doctor from the University of San Diego School of Law, where she received both the University of San Diego Student Leadership Scholarship and the Earl B. Gilliam Bar Association Merit Scholarship. She received dual Bachelor of Arts degrees in Psychology and English from the University of Michigan.

When she is not advocating for clients, Tatiana enjoys traveling with her husband, working out, meditating, mentoring attorneys, teaching trial advocacy, and supporting wellness and DEI initiatives within the legal community.
